Spanish General Ernesto Aguirre defeated Emilio Aguinaldo in Cavite at Zapote Bridge, then returned with a larger force and attacked the Revolutionary leader in a strongly entrenched position at Imus, 12 miles southwest of Manila. Aguinaldo defeated the 500 Spanish in a bold flanking movement as they crossed the river. Two months later he won again at Binakayan.
