Romanian serfs in Transylvania, led by the poor nobleman Antal Budai Nagy, rebelled against Sigismund of Hungary and the avaricious Bishop Gyorgy Lépes, decisively defeating the forces of the Hungarian Governor near Bábolna (modern Bana, east of Gyor). Victory won the peasant army restored rights, though the church and nobility eventually forced them to accept less.
