Frederick II of Prussia campaigning against Moravia attempted to besiege Austrian General Ernst Dietrich von Marschall on the March at Olmutz (modern Olomouc, Czech Republic). However, Marshal Leopold von Daun maintained lines to the fortress and the day after a Prussian convoy was destroyed at Domstadtl, Frederick broke off the siege and withdrew.
