While Frederick II of Prussia besieged the Austrians at Olmutz, in eastern Bohemia, a Prussian supply convoy of 4,000 wagons tried to advance south from Niesse. After several attacks the convoy, claimed to be 40 miles long, was utterly destroyed at nearby Domstadtl by Austrian General Gideon von Loudon, aided by Croat auxiliaries. Frederick withdrew from Olmutz next day.
