Despite defeat at Korbach, Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick sent Prince Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand south through Hesse against French communications. Northeast of Marburg, between Emsdorf and Erxdorf, the Hereditary Prince’s German and English cavalry routed and captured French General Christian Glaubitz. The French were decisively defeated at Warburg two weeks later.
