Recovering from a check at Zapote Bridge, Spanish General José Lachambre continued the offensive south of Manila, attacking Emilio Aguinaldo and 5,000 men at Dasmariñas. Following days of brutal fighting, and the heroic death of 23-year-old General Flaviano Yengco at nearby Pasang Santol, Aguinaldo evacuated the burning town and fell back on Imus.
