To settle a long-running feud between the MacPherson and Davidson clans, dating back to Invernahavon (1370), Robert III of Scotland witnessed a judicial fight to the death between 30 champions from each side. The battle was fought on the North Inch of Perth and reputedly ended when only one Davidson escaped alive, leaving 11 injured MacPherson survivors.
