Sigismund of Hungary was driven out of Kutna Hora, southeast of Prague, by Hussite General Jan Zizka and retreated southeast through Habry to Nemecky Brod (modern Havlickuv Brod) on the Sásava, held by Polish Baron Zawiza of Garbow. Zizka’s outnumbered force destroyed almost half the Imperial army of 23,000 and Sigismund was forced to withdraw from Bohemia.
