Alexander MacDonald Lord of the Isles continued the rebellion led by his father at Harlaw, taking a reported 10,000 men to burn Inverness. King James I of Scotland then met the rebels in Lochaber, where MacDonald was heavily defeated in marshy ground after the Camerons and Mackintoshes deserted. Shortly afterwards he surrendered and was imprisoned.
