Despite Imperial losses at Vitkov Hill and Zatec earlier in the year, Sigismund of Hungary led a third expedition into eastern Bohemia and attacked Hussite Jan Zizka outside Kutna Hora, southeast of Prague. When Germans in the city rose in support of Imperial General Pipo Spano (Count Filippe de Scolari), Zizka was forced to break out. He was soon avenged at Nebovidy.
