With France wracked by the Burgundian-Armagnac civil war, newly crowned King Henry V of England took an army to claim the French throne and landed near modern Le Havre to besiege Harfleur. Although the English suffered heavily from casualties and disease, the port surrendered after four weeks. Henry marched to victory a month later at Agincourt.
