A large-scale naval battle on the River Po near Cremona saw the Venetian fleet under Admiral Niccolo Trevigiano and the soldier of fortune Francesco Bussone Count Carmagnola defeated by the Duke of Milan’s Generals, Niccolo Piccinino and Francesco Sforza. However, Milan eventually sued for peace. Carmagnola was later executed by Venice for alleged disloyalty.
